The ABA Council is delighted to confirm that the Right Honourable Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, will open the ABA 2017 Biennial Conference in London on 3 July. His Excellency the Honourable Alexander Downer AC, Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, will open the London sessions and Andrew Langdon QC, Chairman of the Bar of England and Wales, will welcome delegates.

The ABA is also pleased to announce another exceptional presenter in the conference line-up and a very unique opportunity with a special ‘In conversation’ session with The Right Hon Lady Hale, Baroness of Richmond. Lady Hale is the Deputy President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. In 2004, she joined the House of Lords as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary. She is the only woman to have been appointed to this position. She served as a Law Lord until 2009 when she, along with the other Law Lords, transferred to the new Supreme Court.
