Training for barristers in dealing with witness intermediaries - Sydney and Newcastle

The Department of Justice is holding training sessions for legal practitioners in February regarding children's intermediaries in criminal matters. The training sessions will focus on the role of Children's Champions in sensitive criminal matters and examine practical experiences of the system in the United Kingdom as well as working with Children's Champions both pre-trial and during a hearing.

Three sessions will be held at the Sydney office of the Director of Public Prosecutions on Tuesday 16th February (from 1.30-3.30pm), Thursday 18th February (4.30pm-6.30pm) and Friday 19th February (from 1pm-3pm).

A session will be held in Newcastle on Monday 21 February at the Newcastle office of the Director of Public Prosecutions from 4.30-6.30pm.

Places at the sessions are strictly limited. Interested persons should nominate which session they wish to attend by email to Kristy.Crepaldi@justice.nsw.gov.au
