Change the Record on Indigenous over-representation in the criminal justice system

Leading Indigenous, human rights and peak legal professional organisations have joined the "National Justice Coalition" in a campaign to end the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the criminal justice system. "Change the Record" was launched this morning in Redfern with the support of the Australian Bar Association and the Law Council of Australia. The immediate past president of the New South Wales Bar Association, Phillip Boulten SC, will chair the ABA working party contributing to finding new ways to approach the issue.
