NSW Barristers' Clerks Association Conference

Fri Oct 11 2019

Registration for the 2019 Barristers’ Clerks Conference and Conference Opening Event closes today.

The New South Wales Barristers’ Clerks Association (‘NSWBCA’) invites clerks and assistant clerks to attend the 2019 Barristers’ Clerks Conference at the Manly Pavilion, West Esplanade, Manly Cove on Friday, 18 October 2019. Click here to download the registration form.

A highly motivated and skilled clerk is a necessity for any chambers to succeed in today’s market. The conference will provide a networking opportunity for clerks to maintain and establish relationships with clerks from other chambers (including interstate and overseas), exchange information and ideas, and gain insights from the best in the business.

The conference will comprise of keynote presentations and workshops such as an update on work health & safety with MinterEllison (Ms Harriet Eager and Mr Jim Fox), counsel fees & equitable briefing (Federal & State Government) with the Australian Taxation Office (Mr Jeremy Geale, Deputy Commissioner and Mr Grahame Tanna, Assistant Commissioner), Crown Solicitor’s Office (Mr John McDonnell, Assistant Crown Solicitor) and NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment (Ms Louise McAndrew).

The clerks will also be learning tips and tricks to influence high net worth professionals with Anna Hinder of Searl Street Consulting and how to manage mental health issues in the workplace with Jeanette Krass of Workplace Health Services Pty Ltd.

There are many other worthwhile sessions which would be of great benefit such as sessions on marketing with Sue-Ella Prodonovich from Prodonovich Advisory and Sarah Morton (SEO Copywriter and Content Strategist) and an update on cyber privacy, risks and insurance with KordaMentha (Tim Myers & Brendan Read) and Lockton Companies Australia (Mark Luckin). Conference Opening Event for Clerks and Barristers

The Conference Opening Event is being held on Thursday, 17 October 2019 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm in the foyer area of the Banco Court in the Supreme Court. The NSW Barristers’ Clerks are delighted to have The Honourable T. F. Bathurst AC, Chief Justice of NSW, as the Guest of Honour.

We encourage each clerk to bring a minimum of three barristers to the Conference Opening Event. It would be a missed opportunity if you and representatives from your chambers were not in attendance.
