Government releases exposure draft of changes to Racial Discrimination Act

The Coalition's Party Room this morning approved draft amendments to the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. These include, among other things, the repeal of section 18C of the Act, as well as sections 18B, 18D, and 18E. A new protection against racial vilification will be created. As part of its community consultation, the government has invited submissions, which can be made until 30 April 2014 via s18cconsultation@ag.gov.au.
