Australian Consumer Law passes through NSW Parliament

The Fair Trading Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Bill 2010 has passed through both houses of the NSW Parliament. The object of the bill, as provided by the explanatory note, is to apply, as a law of New South Wales, the Australian Consumer Law, comprising Schedule 2 to the _Trade Practices Act 1974 _of the Commonwealth. The Australian Consumer Law will take full effect on 1 January 2011.
