New code of conduct for representatives of children

Wed Sep 01 2010

Attorney General John Hatzistergos has launched an advisory committee and code of conduct to govern the role of representatives of children and other vulnerable people in legal proceedings. Many of the principles contained in the proposed code of conduct form part of the present New South Wales Barristers' Rules. The Guardian ad Litem Professional Advisory Committee will have representatives of the Children’s Court, the Supreme Court and the Administrative Decisions Tribunal (ADT). There will be a Guardian ad Litem web site to provide information to the panel, courts and tribunals, solicitors and the public. Learn more>
