Calling all Indigenous solicitors and law graduates

Mon Aug 30 2010

The Indigenous Barristers’ Trust The Mum Shirl Fund is run through the New South Wales Bar Association to provide financial and other support for Indigenous law students and lawyers, especially barristers. The National Indigenous Legal Conference is being held in Canberra on 1 and 2 October 2010 and the trust is pleased to announce that it will provide funds to attend the conference for Indigenous law graduates working as NSW solicitors, recent graduates currently working for a law firm, LAC, ALS etc, undertaking the College of Law or equivalent or doing their PLT.

This funding will cover travel costs to and from Canberra, reasonable accommodation and the cost of the conference and conference dinner. A Friday evening pre-dinner social function will be held for all NSW delegates hosted by the trust.

To apply for funding, please send a short email to Cindy Penrose by Monday 6 September 2010, setting out your reasons for wanting to attend the conference.
