TONIGHT - ALRC inquiry into discovery in federal courts

The Australian Law Reform Commission will hold a consultation session with interested members of the bar on its current reference entitled Review of Discovery Laws to Improve Access to Justice. The session will be held in the Common Room at 5.00pm tonight. The government has requested the Australian Law Reform Commission to explore options to improve the discovery process in civil litigation in the federal courts, to promote the early and proportionate exchange of information and evidence in court proceedings.� In conducting its inquiry, the commission has been requested to consult closely with the courts and legal profession.�
