Government announces review of juvenile justice system

Tue Jul 21 2009

The New South Wales Government has announced a review of the juvenile justice system, the first in 16 years. Independent consultant, the Noetic Group, will start the review immediately, with findings to be delivered to the Government in December 2009 and will be made public. The minister's announcement does not mention submissions from the profession.

“The review gives the Government an opportunity to evaluate measures that are working in other states and overseas for young at risk, and put programs in place in NSW based on the best evidence available,” said Minister for Juvenile Justice Graham West.
