Appointments to accept service in suits to which the Commonwealth is a party

On 4 February 2009, the Attorney-General approved an instrument of appointment to enable nominated lawyers of DLA Phillips Fox to receive service in accordance with section 63 of the Judiciary Act 1903 (Cth). The appointment of Australian Government Solicitor lawyers within the meaning of section 551 of the Judiciary Act continues. Learn more >

Appointed persons must accept service without instructions. An appointee under section 63 must then comply with paragraph 12A of the Legal Services Directions 2005.
