Conference on free access to law in Asia

The Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) will host the first Asia-wide conference on Building Capacity for Free Access to Law in Asia from 24-25 February 2009 at the University of New South Wales. The conference will bring together users of legal information – legal practitioners, academics, judges, law librarians, business & government officials with free-access to law providers.

Speakers will come from across Asia including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, as well as Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.� A wide range of topics will be covered as well as three workshops on comparative legal research, sustainable court technologies and building free access resources.
