Evidence Amendment Act to commence on 1 January 2009

The Evidence Amendment Act 2007 (NSW), and the Evidence Amendment Act 2008 (Cth) will commence on 1 January 2009.�The amendments implement the model Uniform Evidence Bill endorsed by the Standing Committee of Attorneys General on 26 July 2007. The Model Bill is, in turn, based on the recommendations of the Australian, Victorian and NSW Law Reform Commissions, in their 2005 Report on uniform evidence law.
