Papers to note: Overview of Professional Indemnity and Public and Product Liability Insurance

This report, produced from the National Claims and Policies Database (NCPD)�provides an overview of the public liability and professional indemnity insurance market. Highlights include data on policies and risks written, claims and trends in average written premium.

The minister for revenue and assistant treasurer, the Hon Peter Dutton MP, has issued a media release,�commenting that "public liability insurance premiums fell on average by 9 per cent in the 12 months to 31 December 2006 and professional indemnity insurance premiums fell on average by 8.7 per cent over the same period".
