Tonight: Bar Association president to address public meeting in Lane Cove

Tonight, the president of the NSW Bar Association, Michael Slattery QC, will address a public meeting of parliamentarians, candidates, representatives from the legal profession and local residents in Lane Cone. Candidates will be asked where they stand on the issue of fair compensation for people who are injured in the workplace or on the roads.

The following candidates have confirmed their attendance:

Shauna Forrest (Greens) Kate Botting (Democrats) Gabrielle O’Donnell (ALP)

The 'Fair Go for Injured People' campaign, mounted by the Law Society of NSW, the NSW Bar Association, the Law Council of Australia and the Australian Lawyers Alliance, seeks to draw public attention to the effect that changes to compensation laws have had on injured people.

Where: Queen Elizabeth Senior Centre (Upper Room), 180 Longueville Road, Lane Cove When: Thursday, 1 March 2007 at 7 pm.
