Inquiry into RDA and Human Rights Commission

Attorney General George Brandis QC has announced that the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights will inquire into the operation of Part IIA of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) (including ss 18C and 18D) and the complaints-handling procedures of the Australian Human Rights Commission. The reference has been made under s 7(c) of the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 (Cth). View the attorney general's media release here.
