NSW Bar Association responds to Government CTP Position Paper

Wed Jun 29 2016

This morning the Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation released a media release and position paper on the future of the NSW CTP scheme.

The Government's paper indicates that a workers compensation-style scheme may be introduced for innocent victims of motor accidents. The President of the Bar Association, Noel Hutley SC has this morning issued a media release expressing concerns that a model which concentrates upon time restricted and modest no fault benefits (as opposed to common law remedies) for all but the most seriously injured will adversely affect many thousands of innocent motor accident victims. View the President's media release. Members will be kept up to date with developments via In Brief.
