All New South Wales barristers' practising certificates expire on 30 June 2016. A new practising certificate has to have been issued before a barrister may practise on and from 1 July 2016.
All practising certificate renewal forms will be sent in the post/DX on Tuesday 26 April 2016. If you know you will be absent from chambers from 26 April until the due date of 7 June, you can contact the certification officer Barrie Anthony on 9232 4055, or e-mail email@example.com to arrange for a renewal form to be sent to you now so you may complete the documentation and return it with your payment to avoid the statutory late fee – you can then arrange your insurance at a later date.
Not intending to renew your practising certificate?
If you have decided not to renew your practising certificate this year, would you please advise us in writing that this is your intention so we can note our records.
