Criminal justice system 'on its knees'

The Times has reported that the criminal justice system in England is 'on its knees' ahead of the planned introduction of a new flat-fee scheme on April 1. The president of the New South Wales Bar Association, Arthur Moses SC, has warned via Twitter that a similar crisis confronts the criminal justice system in NSW. Once the profession can no longer subsidise the system through unpaid work, further delays and miscarriages of justice are likely. View the Times article here.
