New Court of Appeal website and practice note

The president of the NSW Court of Appeal, Justice Beazley AO and Justice Payne addressed the NSW Bar yesterday evening on the new Court of Appeal Practice Note No SC CA 1, which commenced on 1 January 2018. A number of changes to the conduct of appeals are significant. All members of the NSW Bar are expected to familiarise themselves with the new regime and comply with the practice note.
The NSW Court of Appeal website was also launched yesterday. The president of the NSW Bar, Arthur Moses SC thanked Justice Beazley AO and Justice Payne for addressing the bar on the new procedures in the practice note and stated: "The new website is an innovative and useful research resource for all practitioners who appear in the Court of Appeal. Practitioners are encouraged to draw any useful cases or papers to the attention of the court which may be considered for publication on the website."
