Bar FC battle against competition leaders

Wellbeing

A makeshift team took on the competition leaders and performed admirably although losing 3-1 to Lands FC. School holidays depleted our stocks however a few younger and fitter players worked tirelessly against a very aggressive opposition. The backline was strengthened with the inclusion of Harry Stanton (who said nepotism is no longer a thing) and Sam Potter, who were ably directed by D’Arville. The midfield also received a boost with the inclusion of Daniel Lo Surdo. Comments heard such as lets hope Lo Surdo can throw in a ball or does not have too left feet as a result of his genetic makeup were soon silenced by a hardworking and convincing performance. Bar FC thanks the boys for their contribution today. The team played well and without wishing to blame others the fact remains a few dubious refereeing decisions could have seen a different outcome. Lastly, Hartford Davis deserves a mention. His dominance in the midfield was impressive and ultimately rewarded through a well taken free kick which will feature in any highlights reel around the world.

Yesterday's team was as follows:

  • Justin Hogan Doran

  • Hilary Monteith

  • Sebastian Hartford Davis

  • Ivan Griscti

  • John Harris (GK)

  • Geoff O'Shea

  • Anthony Lo Surdo

  • Harry Stanton

  • Tim Kane

  • Anais D'Arville

  • Sam Potter

  • Glen Fredericks

  • Justin Doyle

  • Hugh Morrison
