Bar FC thwarted again

Yet again blue skies meant conditions were perfect for Bar FC for yesterday's match in the Domain Soccer League. Some attractive football by the team, however, went without reward as Bar FC were held to a 0-0 draw. Keeper Harris had little to do all match such was the skill of the backline consisting of Gyles SC, Philips, Covell and Griscti at dealing with the long ball. The midfield was passing well however a lack of finish meant that many passing moves went unrewarded. A free kick outside the area was taken by Hartford Davis who rattled the cross bar with his effort. Unfortunately, the goal drought continues but Sir Alex is happy with the way the team is competing and realises a win is not far away. It was never going to be easy given Bar FC is playing in a higher division this year. Grumblings heard from Connor SC around Maurice Byers Chambers that Sir Alex should retire are starting to increase in volume. Let’s hope the team can soon relieve some pressure.

Our next game is on Wednesday, 24 May 2017 at 1.15 pm against Division leaders Herbert Smith Freehills. Could be a tough day on the park.

The team for yesterday's game was as follows:

  • Lachlan Gyles SC
  • Joe Jaeger
  • John Harris
  • Hilary Montieth
  • Sebastian Hartford Davis
  • Angus Lang
  • Faraz Maghami
  • Simon Phillips
  • Phillip Santucci
  • Ivan Griscti
  • Darren Covell
  • Glen Fredericks
  • Geoff O'Shea
  • Tim Kane
