NSW Bar FC kicks off season 2017

NSW Bar FC opened its Domain Soccer League season today against reigning divisional champions Herbert Smith Freehills. In what many players and on-lookers described as one of the best games of football seen on the Domain in some time, NSW Bar FC more than had the measure of their younger counterparts. Philips, Griscti, O’Shea, Fredericks, Kane, d’Arville, Covell and keeper Harris were fearless in defence. The mid-field was commanded masterfully by Hartford David, Boyle and Maghami who combined to provide plenty of ball to striker Di Michael. Compton and debutant (Hilary) Montieth worked tirelessly on the wings. The first half was dominated by a steely defence from both sides with a few forays but even fewer opportunities. A HSF strike from just outside of the 18 yard box about 4 minutes before the end of the first term hit the cross-bar and miraculously went over the goal line to give HSF the lead 1-0. The score line did not change despite spirited attacks from Bar FC in the second half. NSW Bar FC next play Lands FC on Thursday, 26 April 2017 at 1.15 pm. Come and support your FC!
