A result today that probably fairly reflected the match that was played. With an opposition that had some nice ball players in the middle of the park and the benefit of young legs, Bar FC found the going tough today in the Domain Soccer League.

Notwithstanding some excellent workmanlike performances from D’ Arville, Cook, Condylis and Hartford Davis, Bar FC spent the majority of the game chasing the ball. An excellent save from Harris in the first half kept the score level at half time however ten minutes into the second half, a well hit shot missed the outstretched hand of Harris and found the back of the net.

The winner of the Patchildinho award this week goes to Stanton who continues his return to Bar FC after a forced early retirement due to injury. This award represents the teams view of the piece of play that best displays the beautiful game at its worst. His protest that his failure to trap the ball that ran under his foot to a Bar FC player behind him was actually a shrewd and calculated dummy was unanimously dismissed by the after match review panel (consisting of Harris and Patchildinho).

Our next game is on Thursday 25 July 2019 at 1.15 pm on top of the Domain Car Park. All friends, supporters and hecklers are welcome.

Today’s team was as follows:

DAVID STANTON IVAN GRISCTI SHAUN MCCARTHY JOEL COOK GEOFF O’SHEA DAVID PATCH NICHOLAS CONDYLIS SEBASTIAN HARTFORD DAVIS NICHOLAS OLSON HAYDEN DORIA JOHN HARRIS (GK) ANDREW MUNRO HUGH MORRISON NICOLE COMPTON RICO
