Federal Court and Federal Magistrates Court Regulation 2012

Wed Dec 12 2012

The legislative instrument Federal Court and Federal Magistrates Court Regulation 2012 was registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments on 11 December 2012. The regulation will start on 1 January 2013 and repeal the Federal Court of Australia Regulations 2004 (the old regulations).

A copy of the regulation (SLI 2012 No. 280) is now available from the ComLaw site. An announcement providing an overview of the fee changes has been placed on the court’s website and more detailed information will follow.

The old regulations as in force before 1 January 2013 will continue to apply to: • a setting-down fee requested before 1 January 2013 if that fee was not paid before that date; and • any fee for a service requested under the old Regulations before 1 January 2013.

New fees apply to any document filed or any service requested on or after 1 January 2013.
