Bar News is in the mail

Thu Dec 08 2011

The summer 2011-12 edition of Bar News is in the mail.It features thecustomary mix ofinteresting stories, such as:the art of sentencing offenders; the recent case concerning Andrew Bolt; andthe life and career of Sir Garfield Barwick. It questions whether a duty of care can be said to exist on the modern battlefield andreports on the unveiling of the portrait of Sir Kenneth Jacobs. And of course it includescoverage of bar sports, appointments, obituaries andBullfry's long walk home after the Bench and Bar Dinner. This edition of Bar News is accompanied by the second edition of the Bar Associations Guidelines for Barristers on Dealing with Self-Represented Litigants. The additional material might slow down distribution and members are asked to be patient. If youhave not received your copy by Tuesday, 13 December at the latest, please contact the publications manager, Chris Winslow. 8 December 2011
