The Office of the General Counsel of the Department of Justice

The Office of the General Counsel of the Department of Justice invites applications from junior counsel for appointment to a prequalified panel to provide legal representation to the Department of Justice and to assist in coronial inquests and inquiries (the Panel). Applicants will be appointed to the Panel following an application, evaluation and selection process.

Successful applicants will be appointed to the Panel for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years. Information on the Panel, including the application form, can be found on the Office of the General Counsel website. If you have any questions, you may contact Lida Kaban, A/General Counsel on 8346 1388 or via email to enquiries_generalcounsel@justice.nsw.gov.au.

The right to engage counsel outside of the Panel is reserved and there should be no expectation that appointment to the Panel will generate any work. Appointment to the Panel is independent of any arrangement you may have with the Crown Solicitor’s Office.
