2015 Common Law Drinks

Fri Jul 31 2015
Collegiality

Judges, barristers and clerks are warmly invited to the 2015 Common Law Drinks to be held on Friday, 21 August at Hotel CBD, upstairs in the Club Bar, 52 King Street, Sydney. The guest speaker will be His Honour Justice Bellew of the Supreme Court.

It was on 26 August 1928 that Mrs May Donoghue drank ginger beer from a tumbler which, it was claimed, contained the remains of a decomposed snail. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Common Law Bar to relax and share stories in a pleasant and convivial atmosphere and to mark the occasion of the 87th anniversary of this momentous event in the history of the common law.

Tickets cost $90 per person or $70 for barristers of up to 5 years seniority (called to the Bar in 2010 or later). The event is kindly sponsored by Bar Cover. For further information on the event and to register click here. RSVP is essential by Friday, 14 August 2015.
