Bar FC victorious again

No doubt inspired by the Matilda’s performances at the World Cup, Bar FC had to pick itself off the canvas today and return to the winners podium. A somewhat disjointed performance resulted in a final score line of 2-1. Had Di Michiel or Canceri performed like Sam Kerr, the score would have been far greater. Nevertheless, a workmanlike shift saw both strikers score and Di Michiel now move to equal third (with Morrison and Condylis who did not play today) in the race for the golden boot.

The Sir Alex award for the best player on the pitch must go to d’Arville who organised the backs well and worked tirelessly to fend off the oppositions attacks. Today’s squad was as follows:

JEH COUTINHO GRAHAM CONNOLLY SHAUN MCCARTHY TIMOTHY BOYLE BEN PHILLIPS JON TSANG NICHOLAS OLSON ANDY MUNRO JOHN HARRIS (GK) IVAN GRISCTI ANTHONY CANCERI DAVID STANTON RICHARD DI MICHIEL ANAIS D’ARVILLE

Our next game is against current league leaders Pendal FC on Thursday 27 June at 1.15 pm on top of the Domain Car Park. No doubt a tough test given that they have won 6 games and drawn one (scoring 25 goals with only 3 goals against). All supporters of Bar FC are welcome.
