Bar FC narrowly defeated

Football can be a cruel sport some times. Like the Matildas, Bar FC went down today to the Sydney Business School 3-2 in the dying minutes of the game. This was our first game against our old rivals and they clearly had been active in the off season recruiting in South America. As Patchildinho is in France knocking back some fine Bordeaux red, we did not have a translator to help understand the instructions that were being called.

Notwithstanding the loss, some wonderful football was played by both teams. Condylis was always threatening up front and scored Bar FC’s opening goal with a deft touch around the keeper. Morrison used his pace to pounce on a defensive error and managed to find the back of the net notwithstanding the pants pulling that was taking place. Our undoing however was from set plays where our height differential meant that SBS had the upper hand.

A solid performance by the team as a whole (squad list below) and a game where we created chances aplenty. A warm welcome is also extended to debutante Andy Munro, back to the beautiful game after a small sabbatical.
