Practising certificate fee waivers for parents and other carers

Mon Jun 03 2019

The Diversity and Equality Committee would like to remind barristers that the Bar Association has a policy whereby the treasurer, in consultation with the Executive Director, can consider waiving the practising certificate fees for barristers taking time out from practice in 2019/2020 due to parental and/or other carer responsibilities.

Parents can receive a waiver of up to 100% of their practising certificate fee and other carer’s can receive a waiver of their fee calculated on a pro rata basis equal to the number of months the barrister intends to be on leave.

All you need to do is make a written application to the Executive Director of the Bar Association during this renewal period.

Further details on the fee waiver policy can be found on the Bar Association website.
