Australia's unfinished human rights business

The Law Council has marked the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by calling for Australia to adopt a national Human Rights Act. The president of the LCA, Morry Bailes, noted that Australia was one of eight states whose delegates drafted the UDHR, yet "Australia is now the only Western democracy without a national Human Rights Act or bill of rights".
