Appointments

Attorney General Mark Speakman today announced the appointment of Justice Paul Brereton AM RFD to the bench of the NSW Court of Appeal.

“Justice Brereton has served with distinction as a Supreme Court judge in NSW for 13 years and his elevation to the Court of Appeal is richly deserved,” Mr Speakman said.

For most of this decade, Justice Brereton has been the Supreme Court’s judge for the Adoptions and Corporations Lists. He chaired the Chief Justice’s Review of the Costs Assessment Scheme between 2011 and 2013.

For the past two years, Justice Brereton has also served as Deputy Chairperson of the NSW Law Reform Commission. He also sits as a member of the Defence Force Discipline Appeals Tribunal.
