A very competitive Sydney Business School defeated Bar FC 2-1 on Monday, bringing an end to Bar FC’S Domain Soccer League season.

A quick goal within minutes of starting from a set play meant Bar FC spent the day chasing the game. A second goal shortly after the start of half time could have crushed a lesser team, but Bar FC dug deep, with a wonderful passing move through the mid field resulting in Di Michiel finishing brilliantly. With ten minutes to go and the score at 2-1, Bar FC pushed into enemy territory however the goal to draw the game eluded us. A valiant effort by all on the park.

Our attentions now turn to the games against the Victorian and Queensland Bar to be played in Melbourne this year on Saturday 8 September 2018. For those keen to support the team, the games coincide with the Sports Law Conference to be held in the morning, with the festival of the boot scheduled for the afternoon. Nothing like getting some of your CPD points before enjoying an afternoon of sport.

Sir Alex would like to thank all who have contributed to the team this year and those friends and supporters who have cheered on the sideline. With a squad of approximately 78 players, Bar FC is looking healthy and would appear to be an integral part of life at the Bar for many. Special thanks to Lo Surdo SC who has supported the team throughout and officiated in the DSL competition.

Finally, todays team included a Bar FC debutante, Nick Condylis. Great to see the old guard being replenished by the new. Today’s semi final squad was as follows:

  • ANAIS D’ARVILLE
  • ANTHONY CANCERI
  • NICHOLAS CONDYLIS
  • JOHN HARRIS (GK)
  • IVAN GRISCTI
  • RICHARD DI MICHIEL
  • LACHLAN GYLES SC
  • GLENN FREDERICKS
  • SIMON PHILIPS (C)
  • RICO
  • COLIN MAGEE
  • JONATHAN CLARK
  • JEH COUTINHO
  • ELLY AITKENHEAD
  • HUGH MORRISON
