Training on Reforms to Sentencing Laws

The NSW Government has passed legislation that will substantially reform sentencing laws. The laws are planned to commence on Monday, 24 September 2018. Legal Aid NSW is providing free training on the sentencing reforms to lawyers across NSW. This includes members of the NSW Bar who appear for defendants.

The NSW Bar Association will host a session on sentencing reforms, to be held at 5.15 on 21 August 2018 in the Common Room. The session will be chaired by S Odgers with R Wilson PD and Assistant Commissioner Luke Grant, NSW Department of Attorney General and Justice. Further information will be advised closer to the date. Registration for all sessions is now available via the Legal Aid NSW Learning Management System (LMS). To register please click here. If you have not previously attended a Legal Aid NSW training session, you will need to create an account on the LMS before you can register for the training. Registration is essential if you wish to attend, and places are strictly limited for each session. Free morning tea and lunch will be provided.
