Senate committee calls for a federal judicial commission

On 8 December 2009 the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee released a report titled Australia's Judicial System and the Role of Judges, which recommends that the Australian Government should establish a federal judicial commission modelled on the Judicial Commission of NSW. The Australian Government has published its formal response to the committee's recommendations.
