Law Council emissions trading round tables

Tue Mar 31 2009

The Australian Government has released its Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme Bills and the Senate has established two inquiries into the legislative package. The Law Council's Environment and Planning Law Group has set up a nation-wide series of round tables to develop a submission on the legislation. The purpose is to seek comments on both the current draft legislation and, as a separate issue, the policy issues arising from the draft legislation. The results of this consultation process will then be presented to the Law Council for its consideration prior to submission to the government.

Copies of the Bills, with a very detailed commentary on the legislation, are available online
