Law Council supports independent reviewer of terrorism laws

The Law Council of Australia has welcomed the Senate Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs’ Report recommending the establishment of an independent reviewer of Australia’s terrorism laws.�Law Council President Ross Ray QC said, 'The Law Council has been calling for a mechanism for independently reviewing Australia’s anti-terrorism laws. While past reviews of these laws have identified some areas of concern, there is a need for ongoing and comprehensive scrutiny of such laws by an independent reviewer.'�View the LCA media release >
