Wed Aug 15 2007

Tonight, members of the New South Wales Bar will have the rare opportunity to hear a guest lecture by Justice Joubran, a justice of the Supreme Court of Israel. Since 1993 Justice Joubran sat on the District Court in Haifa, before his nomination to the Supreme Court of Israel in 2004. Previously, he served as a judge at the Magistrate Court in Haifa: this after being admitted to the Israeli Bar in 1970, and holding the position of Head of a Private Practice.

In addition to his judicial activities, Justice Joubran is a board member of the council for Advancing Israel, and was awarded the Lord Marks Sieff Prize for distinguished initiatives to improve the relationship between Jews and Arabs in Israel. Justice Joubran is also a member of the National Judges Council.
