Bar Association web statistics for July

A brief analysis of statistics from the Bar Association's web site provides an insight into how many people visit, when they do so and what sort of pages they open. Some of the results are quite surprising.

During the month of July, the Bar Association's web site received 9,137 unique visitors, who made a total of 25,757 visits (an average of 2.81� visits per user) and viewed 328,202 pages (12.74 pages per visit).�

'Find a barrister' is still the most visited web page. It was viewed 41,000 times during July. The next most visited pages were (in descending order) Chambers Accommodation, the Professional Matters page and News and Developments, receiving 8,244, 3,712 and 1,669 visits respectively.

The most popular time to visit the web site is between 3.00pm and 5.00pm, Monday to Wednesday.

The new section on costs precedents has been a great success, with 1,273 visits during July.

Bar Brief No.141 was viewed 842 times in the month of July.

Interesting�facts of the month

July saw the most-viewed Bar Association circular since statistics�have been�kept.�The flyer announcing a Federal Court litigation funding seminar�was viewed 1,496 times. Previously, the most widely read circular was the one�regarding the association's action against Nationwide News Ltd for�publishing details of�Dr Power's referees (1,044 views).

The list of visitors to our web site, sorted by domain name, included some interesting new entries.

The first was Indonesia: with the .id domain ranked sixth place (behind the .com, .au, .net. and .uk domain names) and ahead of New Zealand's .nz.

Perhaps the most interesting new visitors were 10 people with .mil in their address - the United States Military.�This�may have had�something to do with announcements about Major Mori's life membership of the ABA.
