William Lee: The first Chinese-Australian barrister in NSW

On Saturday, 19 November 2016 Malcolm Oakes SC will give a presentation to the Chinese-Australian Historical Society on William Lee - the first Australian of Chinese descent admitted as a NSW barrister in 1938. Lee's cases included a 1949 High Court challenge to the constitutional validity of the deportation of Chinese refugees in 1949. He was the barrister of choice in the Sydney Chinese community.
