Time For Justice Breakfast 2016

Thu Sep 22 2016

IJM frees people living in poverty in the developing world from violence, prevents violence and works with local legal systems to prove that justice for the poor is possible.

IJM’s annual "Time for Justice" Breakfast is on 6 October 2016 at the Strangers Dining Room, New South Wales Parliament House. The Time For Justice campaign invites legal professionals to donate the equivalent of their charge out rate of one billable hour to combat cybersex trafficking in Cebu, The Philippines.

Cybersex trafficking is transnational and growing at a startling rate, with the rapid expansion of online communication and financial services creating new challenges for law enforcement and industry regulators. An expert panel at the event will discuss what can be done in response to both the demand for abusive content created by perpetrators in Australia, and the supply of the material in developing countries like the Philippines. The panellists are:

  • Andree Wright, Children’s eSafety Commissioner (Acting)
  • Chief Judge John Pascoe AC CVO, Federal Circuit Court of Australia
  • Commander Lesa Gale, Manager Victim Based Crime, Australian Federal Police
  • Amber Hawkes, Founder, IJM Australia

Tickets can be purchased and further information found online at: www.timeforjustice.org.au
