Women's Legal Service NSW fundraiser
Tue Sep 20 2016The Women’s Legal Service NSW, which provides free legal services to women across NSW, invites members to hear Rosie Batty and Moo Baulch speak at a breakfast event in the Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday, 13 October 2016.
The Women’s Legal Service NSW will direct all funds raised at the breakfast to go towards Bonnie women’s refuge (Bonnie Support Service) to provide a solicitor for a regular drop-in advice service at its premises in south west Sydney. This is a high priority because early access to legal advice can minimise problems from getting bigger if left unaddressed. These include getting Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders, making arrangements for the children, accessing victim’s support and protecting rights to marital property. They need to raise $14,000 to place a solicitor at Bonnie’s one day per week for a year, enabling approximately 250 women escaping violence to access justice and protect their rights.
Time: 6:30am arrival for a 7:00 am start.
The event will run from 7.00am – 8.30am
