The New South Wales Law Reform Commission is undertaking a review of guardianship laws. On 22 August 2016 the commission released Question Paper 1: Preconditions for alternative decision-making arrangements. It considers the circumstances that must exist before a decision-maker can be appointed under the system of guardianship in NSW to make personal, financial and medical decisions for somebody else. The commission is seeking submissions regarding these preconditions. Submissions close on Monday, 17 October 2016. For more information about the review, Question Paper 1 and how to make a submission, visit the NSWLRC website.
