Position vacant: magistrate

The attorney general is seeking applications from persons qualified for appointment as a magistrate under the Local Court Act 2007 on a full-time or part-time basis. Selection criteria: Applicants must be Australian lawyers of at least five years’ standing, or current or former judicial officers, and should be conversant with the law and procedures applied in the Local Court and the Children’s Court of NSW. In addition, all applicants should refer to the selection criteria and guidance at www.justice.nsw.gov.au/appointments.

Applications in Word or PDF addressing each of the selection criteria, accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae and the names of at least two referees, must be completed online by 11.59 pm on Sunday 29 May 2016.

It will be necessary for previous applicants to submit a fresh application if they still seek such appointment.
