Opening of Law Term services 2015

The Red Mass will be celebrated at 9.00am on Monday, 2 February 2015, at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney. Judges and counsel are invited to robe in the Crypt from 8:30 am. There will be a procession of judges and counsel into the cathedral. Morning tea will be served in Cathedral House immediately after the ceremony.

The Anglican church service to mark the commencement of the 2015 Law Term is to be held at St James Church, King Street, on Monday, 2 February 2015 at 10.30am.

The annual Parramatta Inter-Church Law Service to mark the commencement of the 2015 Law Term will be held on Wednesday, 4 February 2015 at 9.30am in St John’s Anglican Cathedral, 195 Church St Parramatta.

The Annual Pan-Orthodox Church Service to mark the opening of the 2015 Law Term will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, 242 Cleveland Street, Redfern on Tuesday 10 February 2015 at 6:30pm. Practitioners and guests are asked to be seated in the Cathedral by 6:25pm. The procession to the Cathedral will be led by the chief justice of NSW, the Hon Tom Bathurst AC and will commence from the Rectory of the Archdiocese which is situated in the grounds of the Cathedral. Those wishing to robe are invited to do so in the Rectory. At the conclusion of the service a light buffet and refreshments will be served at the reception room.

A service to mark the opening of the Law Term will be held at the Great Synagogue, Sydney on Wednesday, 11 February at 5.30 pm. Members are requested to be seated by 5.15 pm. The cocktail party after the service is free of charge, but guests are requested to preregister. The Muslim Legal Network (NSW) Opening of Law Term Service will be held on 19 February 2015 at the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque. Guests are requested to arrive at 6:00pm so that the service can commence on time. The Auburn Mosque Committee has requested that attendees kindly observe a modest dress code for the event.
