Agreement between the DPP and Police

The commissioner of police and the DPP have entered an agreement concerning the content and service of an Early Appropriate Guilty Plea brief of evidence and the process for charge certification. President Arthur Moses SC has asked the Criminal Law Committee to review the agreement to ascertain if there are any concerns as to the provision of material. The president requests that if any members have any concerns with the agreement and the impact that it may have on the ability of barristers to advise clients on guilty pleas, these should be provided by Wednesday, 13 March 2018 to Ting Lim via email or ph: (02) 9232 4055.
