Attorney General Mark Speakman SC today announced the appointment of Deputy Chief Magistrate Chris O’Brien as a judge of the District Court of NSW. He will replace the late Judge Robert Toner SC, who died last month. The swearing-in ceremony will be held on 9 April 2018 at 9.00am in John Maddison Tower, Level 21. The attorney general will speak on behalf of the New South Wales Bar. Barristers should wear wigs and gowns. Senior counsel should wear full-bottomed wigs.
