Rewriting coronial law for New South Wales

Request for interviewees for doctoral research

Participants are sought for a coronial law doctoral project at the University of Sydney Law School examining the changes to coronial law and practice in New South Wales introduced by the Coroners Act 2009 and the effectiveness of those reforms to meet their stated purpose. The project is being supervised by Professor David Hamer and Dr Rebecca Scott Bray.

Barristers who have appeared at or acted as counsel assisting in an inquest in New South Wales, and who would be interested in participating in an interview for the project, are invited to contact the student researcher, Raymond Brazil, for further information at rbra1621@uni.sydney.edu.au

Participation in this research project is voluntary.

An interview for the project would take approximately 1.5 hours. Participation in an interview will remain confidential and participants will be de-identified in any publication or report on the research.

The research project has received Ethics Approval by the Human Research Ethics Committee of The University of Sydney (Ethics Approval Protocol Number (2016/047).
