The portraits of Justice Bell and Justice Gageler were presented last night to President Arthur Moses SC for addition to the permanent Bar Association collection. The portrait of Justice Bell was commissioned out of monies raised by senior members of the criminal bar including her old floor Frederick Jordan chambers. The portrait of Justice Gageler was commissioned by his old floor Eleventh Floor.

At the unveiling last night the president expressed the appreciation of the New South Wales Bar for the portraits and said: "Portraits of members of the New South Wales Bar who have served on The High Court are an important part of the bar's history. It is with a great deal of pride that I welcome back to the Bar Association two of our most revered members, Justice Bell and Justice Gageler, who have served with distinction on the High Court. They have each earnt the admiration of the profession and our bar will be deeply appreciative to have their portraits hanging in this our home."

The artist who did the portraits, Tomas Maceiras, is pictured with Justice Bell and Justice Gageler at the unveiling.
